Black and White Analogue
Black and White Analogue are connections and disturbances within memory. Amin was born in British occupied Tanzania, later settling in the UK and draws on this experience within his work. Using performance, photography and painting Amin seeks to re-perform and observe childhood memories and experiences drawn from personal family photo albums. Works involve the scaling up of childhood clothes, sets and spaces in the modelling, performing and documenting of Amin’s earliest childhood memories – currently focusing on his home town of Mwanza – the location of his childhood self. Amin’s work is dreamlike, uncanny yet at the same time amusing and mischievous – tableaus constructed and documented so as to philologically charge personal space and time.
